Pre-Surgery Instructions
Vands Plastic Surgery Clinic – Pre-Surgery Instructions

Identification Requirement
• Domestic patients: Please bring your ID card.
• International patients: Please bring your passport.

★ The Day Before & Day of Surgery

1. Do not eat or drink anything (including water, candy, or gum) for 8 hours before surgery.
2. Please eat well the day before surgery and get enough sleep.
3. Your surgery time will be confirmed the day before surgery. If you do not receive a call from the clinic, please contact us to confirm.
4. Please remove all nail polish (hands and feet) and do not wear jewelry such as rings or necklaces. Please wear comfortable clothing with a zipper that is easy to put on and remove.
5. It is recommended to shower and wash your face thoroughly on the day of surgery.
6. Do not wear makeup on the day of surgery. Please also remove contact lenses before visiting the clinic.
7. Please arrive at the clinic 1–1.5 hours before your surgery time.
8. Driving yourself is strictly not allowed on the day of surgery. For safety reasons, please use public transportation.
9. It is recommended to bring a hat, scarf, muffler, or sunglasses to help cover your face after surgery.
10. If you are on your menstrual period on the day of surgery, please wear a tampon before visiting the clinic.

★ Health Condition Notice

1. If you have medical conditions such as high blood pressure, diabetes, or thyroid disease, please inform us in advance. If necessary, you may need a consultation with the anesthesiologist and additional tests.
2. If you have allergies or reactions to medications, please inform us of the cause and symptoms (such as itching, hives, or difficulty breathing) so that we can avoid those medications during anesthesia.
3. If you have had previous surgery involving the heart, lungs, liver, kidneys, or brain, or have received cancer treatment, please inform us in advance.
4. If you have anemia, it may worsen after surgery, so evaluation and treatment may be required before surgery.
5. If you experienced fever, phlegm, cough, or cold symptoms within one week before surgery, please inform us.
6. If you take medications for high blood pressure, diabetes, thyroid conditions, or hormones related to your menstrual cycle, please consult the clinic before taking them.
Aspirin, aspirin-based medications, hormone medications, herbal medicine, and vitamins must be stopped 1 week before surgery.
7. If your surgery date overlaps with your menstrual period, please inform us in advance.

★ Alcohol & Smoking Notice
1. Smoking can delay healing and increase the risk of infection. We strongly recommend stopping smoking once the surgery is scheduled.
2. Alcohol can affect liver function and anesthesia medications. Please avoid alcohol for at least 1 week before surgery.
Post-Surgery Care Instructions (Eye Surgery)
1. Treatment Schedule (The schedule may change depending on your condition.)
- 7 days after surgery: Stitch removal and progress check
- 1 month after surgery: Follow-up check

2. From the Day of Surgery Through the Recovery Period
Medication
- Please take the prescribed oral medications as directed to prevent infection and support healing.
- You may resume any medications or supplements you were taking from the day after surgery.
- Apply the prescribed eye ointment to the suture area 3 times a day using a cotton swab
(continue until the day after stitch removal).

Bleeding
- Light bleeding or slight oozing is normal, as it may be residual blood draining from the surgical area.
- Gently wipe away any blood with a clean towel, then apply light pressure to the area for about 10 minutes.
- If you experience abnormal symptoms (such as bleeding lasting more than 1 hour, sudden swelling with increased bruising, eye pain, etc.), please contact the clinic immediately.

Swelling / Bruising
- Bruising and major swelling may last about 1–2 weeks, while mild residual swelling may continue for up to 3 months.

Cold compress:
- Use on the day of surgery and the following day only.
- Apply for 15–20 minutes at a time, then take a short break.
You can repeat this several times throughout the day to help reduce swelling.

Warm compress:
- Start from day 4 after surgery to help improve circulation and healing.
- Since the area may feel numb, please be careful to avoid burns.

Sleeping / Position
- Please avoid lowering your head.
- Try not to lie face down or lift heavy objects.
- When sleeping, use 2–3 pillows to keep your upper body elevated, as this helps reduce swelling.
- Avoid staying in a lying position for too long, as it may slow down swelling recovery.

Washing / Shower
- You may gently cleanse the surgical area starting 3 days after surgery.
- Please avoid public baths, saunas, and steam rooms for 1 month, as they may affect healing.

Exercise
- You may return to your normal daily activities.
However, please avoid swimming and intense exercise (such as golf, gym workouts, or Pilates) for 2 weeks.

Makeup
- Light makeup is allowed starting the day after stitch removal.

Alcohol / Smoking
- Please avoid alcohol and smoking for at least 2 weeks, as they can affect healing.

3. Recovery Process (This may vary depending on the individual.)
- Due to initial swelling, the double eyelid line may appear wider at first, but it will gradually settle to a natural width over 2–3 months.
- The incision line may look red for about 2 months, and will gradually fade over the following months.
- A tight or pulling sensation may be felt early on. This usually improves as swelling decreases, but can temporarily return during healing and then gradually get better over 1–2 months.
- Pre-existing eye conditions such as dry eyes may temporarily worsen due to swelling, but will improve over time.
- Temporary conditions such as eyelid eversion (ectropion) or conjunctival swelling may occur, but these will gradually improve as the swelling subsides.
Post-Surgery Care Instructions (Nose Surgery)
1. Treatment Schedule (The schedule may change depending on your condition.)
- 1–2 days after surgery: Dressing and cleaning of the surgical area, removal of nasal packing (if applicable), and antibiotic injection
- 7 days after surgery: Stitch removal and progress check
- 1 month after surgery: Follow-up check

2. From the Day of Surgery Through the Recovery Period
- Please do not remove any nasal packing or ear dressings on your own.
- Do not remove the tape on your nose unless instructed by the clinic.
- Take all prescribed oral medications as directed to prevent infection and support healing.
- For any medications or supplements you were taking before surgery, please consult your doctor before resuming.
- Light bleeding or slight oozing is normal, as it may be residual blood draining from the surgical area.
- Gently wipe away any blood with a clean towel. Do not blow your nose.
- If abnormal symptoms occur (bleeding lasting more than 1 hour, sudden swelling with increased bruising, fever or pain that worsens and lasts more than a day), please contact the clinic immediately.

3. Recovery Process (This may vary depending on the individual.)
- During recovery, you may experience slight bleeding or nasal discharge, which is normal.
- If nasal packing is in place, it may be difficult to breathe through your nose, and you may experience mild headaches.
- In some cases, swelling may spread to the under-eye area or other parts of the face, but this will gradually improve over time.
Post-Surgery Care Instructions (Breast Augmentation Surgery)
1. Treatment Schedule (The schedule may change depending on your condition.)
- 1 day after surgery: Dressing and cleaning of the surgical area (please wear a compression bra)
- 3 & 7 days after surgery: Dressing, stitch removal, and Healite treatment
- 2 & 4 weeks after surgery: Healite and RF (radiofrequency) treatment (additional medication may be prescribed to help prevent capsular contracture)
- 2 & 6 months after surgery: Follow-up check

2. From the Day of Surgery During the Recovery Period
Medication
- Please take all prescribed oral medications as directed to help prevent infection and support healing.
- You may resume any medications or supplements you were taking from the day after surgery.

Bleeding
- Light bleeding or slight oozing is normal, as it may be residual blood draining from the surgical area.
- Gently wipe away any blood with a clean towel, then apply light pressure to the area for about 10 minutes.
- If abnormal symptoms occur (sudden swelling, increasing warmth or pain, continuous bleeding, or discharge), please contact the clinic immediately.

- Bruising and major swelling usually last about 2–3 weeks, while mild swelling will gradually decrease over up to 6 months.

Sleeping / Position
- Please avoid lying face down for 1 month.
- When sleeping, use 2–3 pillows to keep your upper body elevated, as this helps reduce swelling.
- Avoid staying in a lying position for long periods, as it may slow down the reduction of swelling.

Washing / Shower
- You may shower starting 3 days after surgery. Please avoid rubbing the surgical area.
- Avoid public baths, saunas, and steam rooms for 1 month.

Exercise
- For 1 month after surgery, avoid large or forceful arm movements.
- Please avoid lifting heavy objects.
- Normal daily activities are fine, but avoid swimming and intense exercise (such as golf, gym workouts, or Pilates) for 2 months.

Compression Garments
- Wearing a compression bra for 2 months helps prevent implant displacement.
- It is recommended to wear it all day for the first month, then about half a day during the second month.

Scar Care
- After stitch removal, keep the tape on the incision area for 4–5 days without removing it.
- After that, apply scar ointment 1–2 times daily for 2–3 months to help minimize scarring.

Alcohol / Smoking
- Please avoid alcohol and smoking for at least 1 month, as they can delay healing.

3. Recovery Process (This may vary depending on the individual.)
- The incision line may appear red for about 2 months, and will gradually fade over the following months.
- For the first few weeks after surgery, your breasts may feel larger than the final result due to swelling.
- You may experience reduced sensation in the nipples, areola, or surgical area, but this usually improves gradually over time.
Post-Surgery Care Instructions (Liposuction)
1. Treatment Schedule (The schedule may change depending on your condition.)
- 1 day after surgery: Dressing and cleaning of the surgical area (please wear a compression garment)
- 10 days after surgery: Dressing, stitch removal, and Healite treatment
- 2 & 4 weeks after surgery: Healite and RF (radiofrequency) treatment
- 2 & 6 months after surgery: Follow-up check

2. From the Day of Surgery During the Recovery Period
- For the first 1–3 days after surgery, a mixture of anesthetic fluid and residual blood may drain from the incision site. This is normal.
- If the amount is significant, please cover the area with a clean towel or gauze and visit the clinic the next day for care.
- If abnormal symptoms occur (bleeding lasting more than 1 hour, sudden swelling with increased bruising, pain, dizziness, etc.), please contact the clinic immediately.

Swelling / Bruising
- Bruising and major swelling usually last about 2–3 weeks.
- After that, swelling will gradually decrease, and your body shape may continue to change and settle for up to 6 months.

Sleeping / Position
- Keeping the treated area slightly elevated can help reduce swelling.
- Avoid staying still or lying down for long periods, as this may slow down swelling reduction.

Washing / Shower
- You may gently cleanse the surgical area and shower starting the day after surgery.
- Please avoid public baths, saunas, and steam rooms for 1 month.

Exercise
- You may return to normal daily activities. However, please avoid swimming and intense exercise (such as golf, gym workouts, or Pilates) for 1 month.

Compression Garment
- Wearing a compression garment helps reduce swelling and bleeding, supports faster recovery, and helps prevent internal scarring.
- Please start wearing it immediately after surgery or from the next day, and continue for 2 months.
- It is recommended to wear it all day during the first month, then about half a day during the second month.

Scar Care
- After stitch removal, keep the tape on the incision area for 2–3 days without removing it.
- After that, apply scar ointment 1–2 times daily for 2–3 months to help minimize scarring.

Alcohol / Smoking
- Please avoid alcohol and smoking for at least 1 month, as they can delay healing.

3. Recovery Process (This may vary depending on the individual.)
- For the first 3–4 months after surgery, the area may feel firm or uneven (lumpy). This is a normal part of the healing process.
- Over time, the firmness and uneven texture will gradually improve and become softer and smoother.
- Some scarring is expected after surgery, but it will gradually improve and fade over time.
Post-Surgery Care Instructions (Fat Grafting)
1. Treatment Schedule (The schedule may change depending on your condition.)
- 1 day after surgery: Tape removal and cleaning of the surgical area (a disposable bandage will be applied; please use a waterproof bandage when showering)
- 7 days after surgery: Stitch removal (if needed) and progress check
- 1 month after surgery: Follow-up check

2. From the Day of Surgery During the Recovery Period
- Please take all prescribed oral medications as directed to help prevent infection and support healing.
- You may resume any medications or supplements you were taking from the day after surgery.
- Please be careful not to apply pressure to the treated area. Avoid wearing items such as hats or sunglasses that may press on the area.
- Some anesthetic fluid or blood may drain from the liposuction or fat grafted areas.
- Light bleeding or slight oozing is normal. You may gently wipe it with a clean towel.
- If abnormal symptoms occur (bleeding lasting more than 1 hour, fever or pain that worsens and lasts more than a day), please contact the clinic immediately.

Swelling / Bruising
- Bruising and major swelling usually last about 1–2 weeks, while mild swelling may continue for up to 1 month.

- The fat survival rate can vary from person to person, so final results may differ individually.
Post-Surgery Care Instructions (Facelift/Lifting Surgery)

- 7 & 14 days after surgery: Stitch removal and progress check

- You may resume any medications or supplements you were taking from the day after surgery.
- Please avoid touching, pressing, or pulling on the surgical area (including actions such as opening your mouth widely).
- Be careful not to pull or dislodge the drainage tube, and avoid putting pressure on it.

- Gently wipe away any blood with a clean towel, then apply light pressure to the area for about 10 minutes.
- If abnormal symptoms occur (bleeding lasting more than 1 hour, sudden swelling with increased bruising, eye pain, etc.), please contact the clinic immediately.

Makeup
- Light makeup is allowed starting the day after stitch removal.

Alcohol / Smoking
- Please avoid alcohol and smoking for at least 4 weeks, as they can delay healing.

3. Recovery Process (This may vary depending on the individual.)
- On the day of surgery, swelling and local anesthesia may make the results look exaggerated or slightly uneven. This will improve as swelling subsides.
- While the area is numb, please be careful to avoid injury or burns, as sensation may be reduced.
- The treated (lifted) area may have reduced sensation or movement, but this usually improves gradually over the following months.
- The incision line may appear red for about 2 months, and will gradually fade over time.
Post-Procedure Care Instructions (Thread Lifting)
- You may wash your face 4 hours after the procedure.
Please keep the attached dressing (Duoderm) in place until the area has healed, and avoid getting water on the areas where threads were inserted until healed
(usually 2–3 days).

- Please take the prescribed medication for 5 days to help prevent infection and reduce discomfort.
If you have any history of antibiotic allergies, please inform us in advance.

- To help reduce swelling and bruising, we recommend applying a gentle cold compress for 3 days.

- For 1 week after the procedure, please avoid:
• Excessive alcohol consumption
• Saunas / jjimjilbang / steam rooms
• Hot baths
• Intense exercise

- You may experience bruising, swelling, discomfort, or a foreign body sensation, but these usually improve within 1–2 weeks.
However, if pain worsens even after taking medication, or if you notice skin color changes, itching, or persistent heat, please contact the clinic and visit for a check-up.

- To prevent the threads from moving or breaking, please avoid opening your mouth wide for 4 weeks (e.g., big yawns or wide laughter).
If you had a double chin procedure, avoid turning your neck forcefully.

- Please avoid ultrasound lifting treatments within 4 weeks, as they may affect the results.
Consult with us in advance if needed.

- In rare cases, depending on your skin condition, threads may become visible or protrude through the skin.
If this happens, do not touch the area and visit the clinic for proper treatment.
Post-Procedure Care Instructions (Botox)
- You may gently wash your face and shower 4 hours after the procedure. Makeup is allowed from the next day.

- For 1 week after the procedure, please avoid:
• Alcohol consumption
• Smoking
• Saunas or steam rooms
• Intense exercise
• Jjimjilbang (Korean sauna)

- Results may start appearing as early as 3–4 days, and usually become noticeable after 1 week. If there is no visible improvement after 2 weeks, please visit the clinic.
• Wrinkle Botox: results appear in 1–2 weeks
• Jaw muscle (masseter) or body Botox: results appear in 3–4 weeks

- The effects of Botox usually last about 3 months.
For best results, repeat treatment every 3–6 months is recommended.

- Mild swelling or bruising may occur after the procedure but usually improves within 1–2 weeks.

- You may feel temporary tightness or reduced muscle movement. This is normal and improves within 1 month.
If discomfort is severe, please visit the clinic for a check-up.
After about 3 months, the effect gradually wears off.

- If you experience pain, warmth, itching, or tenderness at the treatment area lasting more than 4 days, please contact the clinic.
Post-Procedure Care Instructions (Skin Booster/Skin Injection)
- Light cleansing and showering are possible starting 4 hours after the procedure. Makeup can be applied from the next day.

-For 1 week after the procedure, please avoid:
• Alcohol consumption
• Smoking
• Saunas or steam rooms
• Intense exercise
• Jjimjilbang (Korean sauna)

- Swelling, bruising, itching, and redness may occur after the procedure and will gradually subside within about one week.

- Small needle marks or slight unevenness on the skin surface may appear, but these typically resolve naturally within 2 to 3 days.

- You may feel tightness in the treated area or experience mild dryness or flaking. Applying moisturizer or a regenerative cream can help relieve these symptoms.

- The recommended treatment interval ranges from 3 weeks to 3 months depending on the product used.

- For optimal results, treatments are recommended at 4 week intervals.

- If you experience persistent pain, heat, itching, or any unusual symptoms lasting more than 4 days, please contact the clinic.
Post-Procedure Care Instructions (Dermal Fillers)
- You can gently wash your face and shower 4 hours after the procedure. You may wear makeup starting the next day.

- For 1 week after the procedure, please avoid:
• Alcohol consumption
• Smoking
• Saunas or steam rooms
• Intense exercise
• Jjimjilbang (Korean sauna)

- It is normal for the treated area to look slightly fuller or smaller at first.

- Do not press or put pressure on the treated area, as this may affect the results.

- Mild swelling or bruising may occur and usually improves within 1 to 2 weeks.

- If you notice severe swelling, strong pain, heat, unusual skin color changes, or blisters, please contact the clinic right away.

- Please take the prescribed antibiotics and anti-inflammatory pain medication on schedule as directed.
Post-Surgery Care Instructions (Undereye Fat Repositioning Surgery)

- 1 week (7 days) after surgery: Follow-up check
- 1 month after surgery: Progress evaluation

2. From the Day of Surgery Through the Recovery Period
- Please take all prescribed medications as directed to prevent infection and support healing.
- You may resume any medications or supplements you were taking before surgery starting the day after surgery, unless otherwise advised.
- Mild bleeding or oozing may occur. This is usually residual blood from the surgical area and is normal.
- If bleeding occurs, gently wipe the area with a clean towel or gauze and apply light pressure for about 10 minutes.
- If you experience any unusual symptoms such as bleeding lasting more than 1 hour, sudden swelling with increased bruising, or eye pain, please contact the clinic immediately.

- Light makeup can be applied starting the day after surgery.
- Avoid wearing contact lenses for 2 weeks.

Alcohol / Smoking
- Please avoid alcohol and smoking for at least 2 weeks.

3. Recovery Process (This may vary depending on the individual.)
- For up to 2 weeks after surgery, a small amount of blood may mix with tears, which is a temporary and normal symptom.
- Please avoid eyelash extensions and semi-permanent cosmetic procedures for 3 weeks.
- Existing eye conditions such as dry eyes may temporarily worsen due to swelling.
- You may feel mild throbbing or tenderness when pressing the surgical area for some time during recovery.
- Conjunctival swelling or subconjunctival hemorrhage may occur temporarily but usually improves over time.
Post-Surgery Care Instructions (Dimple Surgery)
1. Treatment Schedule (The schedule may change depending on your condition.)
- For 7 days after surgery: Self-care disinfection (apply ointment to the surgical area and replace the regenerative tape daily)
- 2–3 months after surgery: Follow-up examination

2. From the Day of Surgery During the Recovery Period
- Please take the prescribed oral medication to help prevent infection and support recovery.
- Medications or supplements you were taking before surgery may be resumed the day after surgery.
- For 2 weeks, please avoid:
• Opening your mouth widely when laughing
• Puffing out your cheeks
• Pressing the surgical area inside the mouth with your tongue
- On the day of surgery, swelling and anesthetic injections may cause the appearance to look exaggerated or slightly asymmetrical.
- Due to anesthesia, your smiling expression may feel slightly unnatural for about 2 hours after the procedure.
- If abnormal symptoms occur (bleeding lasting more than 1 hour, sudden swelling, or persistent pain), please contact the clinic immediately.
